San Jose police investigate homicide of woman

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- San Jose police are investigating a homicide after the body of a woman body was found Monday morning inside an apartment a block from City Hall, police said.

Police were conducting a welfare check at around 10:21 a.m. at 25 South 3rd Street when they discovered the woman's body. A person of interest is in custody, authorities said.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released. No other information was immediately available.
