SAUSALITO, Calif. -- Sausalito police said Wednesday that a man and woman who were found dead in a residence early Sunday morning died from gunshot wounds.
Police identified the pair as Robyn Chan, a 51-year-old Sausalito man, and Mara Truly, 42, of Sacramento. Their autopsies were performed Tuesday.
Five weapons were recovered from the residence at 173 San Carlos Ave. Four of the weapons were registered to Chan and one was unregistered, police said.
One of the weapons was an AR-15 rifle and two had high-capacity magazines, police said.
Police have not released any other details about the deaths, including whether they were a murder-suicide or homicides. They said the shootings were an isolated event, were not related to recent burglaries and did not pose a threat to the community.
Officers had responded to the home after receiving reports around 2:40 a.m. Sunday about shots fired. They found Chan and Truly deceased when they made a welfare check.
Police said they will be conducting interviews in the case over the next few days. The Central Marin Police Authority and Marin County Sheriff's Office are also investigating the deaths.
