SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Taking Muni to get around San Francisco may soon cost more.

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency met Tuesday to consider raising fares 25 cents to $2.50.

Monthly passes may increase from $70 to $75.

If approved, the new rates would go into effect in two years.

The board is also looking at fining adults and young people the same amount for not giving up their seats to elderly or handicapped passengers.

Right now, teenagers pay more than double for the same offense.
