MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office reports that two 12-year-old girls from Mendocino that were reported missing on Thursday have been found safe.

Officials say Athena Fausset and Catrina Johnson were believed to have left the Ukian Boys and Girls Club around 5 p.m. Thursday.

The two were found safe around 7 a.m. Friday in Ukiah. On their Facebook page, the sheriff's department said a school employee saw the girls walking by and called their dispatch center. Deputies then responded and located the girls.
