Look who's been hiding those freckles!

Demi Lovato tweeted a makeup-free selfie Wednesday and revealed a slew of freckles on her nose and cheeks. She captioned the photo, "Freckles."

For some fans, Lovato's freckles may come as a surprise. Though the 21-year-old singer and "X Factor" judge proudly displayed her freckles on the February 2012 cover of Seventeen, she usually hides them beneath makeup.

But since adopting a new healthy lifestyle, Lovato has been feeling body confident, posting a bikini snap, alongside her bare-faced one.

The "Skyscraper" singer credits a recent retreat for jump-starting her new approach.

"Had a spiritual retreat last week full of organic food, working out, meditation and reiki healing... I feel so ready for this summer!!!" she tweeted Wednesday.

Later, she posted a glistening photo of her on the treadmill. "Well, turns out I ended up in the gym.. Getting fit is my new hobby and I love it!!" she wrote.

And that means we could be seeing more of Lovato's natural beauty.

Actress Julianne Moore has made peace with her freckles since the days when her childhood nickname was Freckleface Strawberry. The redhead, who has freckles on her arms and legs as well as her face, now has a children's book series based on her nickname. She told Redbook's March issue, "Sometimes a magazine wants to see my actual skin, and other times they'll airbrush [the freckles] out. I don't care either way."

Lucy Liu

Not every person with freckles is a redhead or fair-skinned. Asian actress Lucy Liu is one freckled celeb who refuses to camouflage her spots. "Freckles give you a personality without you ever having to say a word," the "Charlie's Angeles" star told The New York Times in 2001. "People automatically think you're fun and have a very open nature, which is a great way to be perceived."

Olivia Munn

For Olivia Munn, whose mother is Chinese and father is white, showing off her freckles is a beauty must. "I've had them since I can remember. ... It's just my skin," "The Newsroom" actress told People last July. "I don't like it when people try to cover them up!"

Rashida Jones

Biracial comic actress Rashida Jones -- her parents are Quincy Jones and Peggy Lipton -- also goes to no great pains to hide the freckles that mostly dot her nose.

Emma Watson

On the cover of Teen Vogue's June 2013 issue, "Harry Potter" star Emma Watson let her freckles shine with a minimalist-makeup look. "I try not to wear makeup all the time," the actress said in a behind-the-scenes video for the cover shoot. "It's nice to kind of give your skin a bit of breathing space. Generally I wear a lot of sunscreen."
