SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Students are returning to Jose Ortega Elementary School after police searched the building due to a bomb threat Monday morning.

Students were safely evacuated says Officer Gordon Shyy, after police received a call from the school at about 8 a.m. regarding a possible threat.

Shyy says SFPD's specialized units were sent to the scene. As of 10:45 a.m., the police said it was clear and safe for students to return to class.
