Suspect shot by Richmond police at Pacific East Mall

RICHMOND, Calif. -- Police shot and injured a suspect at the Pacific East Mall in Richmond Thursday afternoon, a police spokeswoman said.

The shooting occurred a short time after noon at the mall located at 3288 Pierce St. and involved two Richmond police detectives, according to police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov.

Neither of the officers was shot during the incident, Abetkov said.

Information about the suspect's condition and other details about the case were not immediately available, the spokeswoman said.
