Teen couple on the run after apparent crime spree

LOUISVILLE, KY -- A teen couple from Kentucky are on the run after police say they stole two vehicles and left a swath of damage across their area.

Now police and a family are pleading for the pair to end their crime spree and come home, WHAS reports.

Dalton Hayes and Cheyenne Phillips were last seen in early January.

Hayes is with the girl family members thought was his 19-year-old girlfriend, but it turns out Phillips is only 13 years old.

Law enforcement say the search for the pair has intensified since the couple allegedly stole a van from a house, ditched it in the woods and ran away on foot.

Deputies searched, but couldn't find them. A few hours later, a truck -- a red 2006 Toyota Tacoma with a firearm inside -- was stolen. Authorities believe the couple may still be in that vehicle.

The couple has been sighted at a Walmart store in Manning, South Carolina, according to law enforcement.

Hayes is described as 5'10", 175-180 pounds. Phillips is described as 5'1", 100 pounds.
