Teenager killed in early morning San Francisco shooting

SAN FRANCISCO -- An 18-year-old man was killed in a shooting in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood early Tuesday morning, according to the medical examiner's office.

Daniel Beltran, a San Francisco resident, was killed in a shooting that occurred around 5 a.m. in the 100 block of Sixth Street, according to police.

Police said at 5:12 a.m. officers responded to a 911 call requesting help at Sixth and Harrison streets.

Arriving officers did not find a victim, but shortly afterward Beltran arrived at San Francisco General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police have since determined he was shot near Sixth and Mission streets, a few blocks north of the initial call.

No arrests or suspect information in the shooting was available as of this morning, according to police.
