CHOWCHILLA, Calif. (KGO) -- A train slammed into a stranded semi in the San Joaquin Valley town of Chowchilla.

The truck driver stalled on the tracks, got out of his big rig and tried to wave down the conductor.

The Union Pacific train was carrying hundreds of military vehicles. It was headed from Washington to Fort Irwin in the Mojave Desert.

The truck, carrying boxes of trail mix was destroyed, but the train was not damaged. There were no injuries.
