A car ran into a home in Vallejo at Magazine and 5th Streets in Vallejo Tuesday night.

To say John Jackson had bad luck would be an understatement. He says this is the second time a car crashed into his back bedroom. Tuesday night, it was a white SUV. Three months ago it was a different car, but the same bedroom.

"I was in the sunroom, watching TV," Jackson told ABC7 News.

He said he heard World War III.

Investigators believe the elderly driver sped down Magazine St., lost control, took out a street sign, crashed through a fence, and rammed straight into the house.

The airbag deployed and the man was trapped inside of his car. "We had to remove a portion of the house to get him out so we could open the door," said Captain Joel Dinsdale of the Vallejo Fire Department. "And then we were able to get him out and extricate him."

Preliminary reports are that the driver was drinking. Jackson said there was a bottle of wine next to the driver in the car.

It's amazing Jackson is still smiling after all of this. In fact, he recently paid off his house and doesn't plan to move.

Besides, "I got Allstate," Jackson laughed. "I'm in good hands."

The driver meantime is being treated at Kaiser for minor injuries.
