SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- Waste Management recycling workers are taking part in a one day strike in the East Bay.
There are 130 workers who plan to picket outside the company's headquarters in Oakland and San Leandro today. They claim the company manager was disrespectful and discriminatory to union workers. A majority are immigrants who speak Spanish. Waste Management tells ABC7 News the strike is unsanctioned and that trash collectors will be working and customers' trash will be picked up this morning.
