This is one of those crime stories too bizarre to be made up: A guy literally holds up a convenience store with a banana.

This man seems to rob a Philadelphia store at gunpoint, but it's not what it appears. The introduction for the video police posted on YouTube says it all: "Upon viewing the store's video surveillance, it was determined that the offender picked up a banana from the counter and placed it inside the pocket of his sweatshirt and used it to simulate a weapon."

Though it may be hard not to giggle at, it's still a crime. It was initially thought to be an armed robbery, and the man got away with cash. Anyone with information should contact the Philadelphia Police department.
