OAKLAND, Calif. -- A motorist was killed Thursday night in a crash on Interstate Highway 80 in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP described the woman as a 34-year-old from San Francisco. Her name has not yet been released.
The crash, which occurred at 10:48 p.m., is being investigated as a hit-and-run, CHP spokesman Sean Wilkenfeld said.
Wilkenfeld said the motorcyclist was riding a 2000 Suzuki on westbound Interstate Highway 80 just east of the Bay Bridge toll plaza when she, for an unknown reason, fell off her motorcycle and was struck by at least one vehicle.
Wilkenfeld said officers are reviewing surveillance video from the toll plaza to identify other vehicles that may have been involved in the crash.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Oakland CHP office at (510) 450-3821.
