Zoo worker makes wheelchair for disabled porcupine



A paraplegic porcupine is now able to move around thanks to a do-it-yourself wheelchair.

The disabled rodent was about to be put down. But a worker at a zoo in Sao Paolo, Brazil stepped in and made a chair out of plastic plumbing pipes.

It cost about $5 to make the miniature buggy. It has a sling to take the weight off the animal's lower body and wheels in place of its hind legs.

It is not clear what happened to the porcupine. It arrived at the zoo after being rescued from a nightclub.
