Pedestrian hurt as Oakland police chase ends in car crash near I-580

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating after at least one person was hit during a chase that ended in a crash near I-580 and Oakland's Lake Merritt.

ABC7 News has learned it began when officers tried to stop a silver station wagon in East Oakland around 4:15 p.m. Police say that driver refused to stop and officers followed the vehicle along several city streets.

The chase ended near Lake Park and Lakeshore avenues.

At least one person appears to have been hit by a car. SKY7 was overhead as an ambulance took that person away.

The Lakeshore off-ramp has been closed as police continue their investigation.

They later found guns in the suspect vehicle. Further details were not available.
