SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, P.A. -- Authorities are looking for the man who they believe threw some kind of a chemical at two animals in a pet store in Pennsylvania.

Humane officers and police say the suspect poured some the liquid, believed to be bleach, on a pair cats at a PetSmart in Dickson City. The animals were up for adoption and inside a cage at the time.

Humane officers say whatever happened to cats, Shyla and Rossi, they suffered and they didn't deserve it.

The animals suffered burns, and their eyes were nearly swollen shut.

"She has chemical burns on her neck and the side of her face, also the eyes," Humane Society officer Sandy Scala said. "When this happened, neither one of the cats could open up their eyes, and it's just, it's just horrific. Really, I mean you just wonder where the human race is going."

Investigators say a man was seen antagonizing the cats before a customer noticed the animals were injured.

"They were catty corner to each other," store employee Kristen Anderson said. "One cage had two cats in it, only one had been attacked, so it's kind of odd that anyone would. They would have to seek out this kind of harm. It wasn't an accident."

Humane officers want anyone with information about what happened to come forward.

"I want to find out who did this, we all do, this is just absurd," Scala said. "I mean, there are some sick twisted individuals out there and that's putting it nicely and I hope karma really does come around and nail them."
