Dog plays 'Mr. Mom' to two orphaned kittens

NORTH CAROLINA (KGO) -- Two orphaned kittens in need of some mothering have found the perfect companion in the least likely place. A dog named Willie is now serving as Mr. Mom to the tiny cats.

A North Carolina family initially took in the 3-week-old kittens after their mom died.

Rob Dyson says he never imagine his 7-year-old Boston terrier would step up to the plate.

"The good lord knows what he's doing," he said. "He gives some animals a supernatural sense of what to do and how to do it. They have fit into the family. They fit into Willie's life, Mr. Mom's life."

Dyson says he's amazed by Willie, who's old enough to be set in his ways. But still gentle enough to nurture the kittens.
