BALDWIN PARK, Calif. (KGO) -- A Chihuahua that was photographed "praying" for love has found his forever family.

The photo of 2-year-old Oliver was taken last week by 41-year-old John Hwang of La Puente in Southern California. He says it was a part of his hobby of telling shelter animal stories through photos.

"Every time I tried to get up and move away from the kennel, he'd getting up on his hind legs and kept putting his paws together, as if he was begging me to help him," Hwang told ABC News. "He would just come right up to the fence and he would do it. I said 'I got to get a photo of that.' That can be his story."

Hwang says Oliver was captured and brought to the shelter after he was found running around on a street.

After spending some time with Oliver and sitting next to his kennel, Hwang started feeding him some treats. That's when he says Oliver put his paws together in a praying motion.

The photos Hwang shared on Facebook were shared more than 2,500 times.
