Truly heartwarming. The moment a man reunites with his dog that he hasn't seen in 8 years

After eight long years and thousands of miles between them, Mike Nuanes is finally reunited with his lost dog.

The Denver native saw his shih tzu named Jordan go missing eight years ago, as he and his late wife were having breakfast at another home. The couple didn't know what happened but suspected a dognapping, according to WSB-TV Atlanta.

But after eight long years, Nuanes got a call saying that Jordan had been found, nearly 1,500 miles away at the Fulton County Animal Services shelter in the Atlanta area. Jordan was found by a good Samaritan, and after the dog was scanned for a microchip, they matched him up to Nuanes in Colorado.

"He was in pretty bad shape," shelter worker Jill Davis told WSB-TV.

But Nuanes didn't waste a single moment hopping on a plane to Atlanta to pick up Jordan. The emotional reunion, captured on video, can be found here at the Friends of Fulton County Animal Services Facebook page.
