Pier 39 terror plot prompts heightened security for New Year's Eve in SF
On Friday San Francisco Mayor London Breed and law enforcement announced details about their New Year's Eve safety plan.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The man suspected of plotting a Christmas Day terror attack at Pier 39 in San Francisco will stay in jail.

Everitt Jameson appeared in federal court in Fresno Thursday.

The defense argued he should be released under heavy supervision because he backtracked on the attack while speaking with an FBI agent who posed as a member of ISIS.

But the judge decided to keep Jameson in custody, saying he's a danger to society.

His next court date is January 5th.

There will be much more security in response to the plot by Jameson.

Officials say they executed a search warrant and seized numerous items from the home of the man accused of plotting a terror attack on San Francisco's Pier 39 for Christmas Day.
