CA delegates united in support for Donald Trump at RNC

CLEVELAND (KGO) -- After months of speculation about a split party, or an hotly contested convention, it's official, Donald Trump now has enough delegate votes to win the Republican nomination for president.

The process played out with a roll call on the convention floor in Cleveland.

California was front and center and led the way with all 172 delegate votes going to Trump.

Danville's Jon Cordova watched the process as an alternate delegate.

"We don't see the divisiveness, except from other delegations, Washington, Virginia, Utah, a little bit from Texas is where we see most of it," Cordova said.

In the meantime, there's is a small norovirus outbreak at the California delegation headquarters, the Kalahari Resort, about an hour from Cleveland.

"We'll contact the health department if anyone becomes ill and everybody is using hand sanitizers," said Janet Cordova.

At the arena, a new array of speakers on tap, Paul Ryan, Chris Christie and two of Trump's children, including Donald Jr., who spoke with ABC7 News Tuesday morning.

"We are taking care of Americans. We're putting their needs first, and not catering to the feelings of those countries who would love us wiped off the face of the Earth," Donald Trump Jr. said.
