RICHMOND, Calif. (KGO) -- There's concern in Richmond that the election of a new mayor and four city council members may be influenced by one of the city's biggest employers.

The Los Angeles Times reports Chevron spent more than $3 million dollars to promote candidates who favor the oil giant.

Richmond is suing Chevron for an oil refinery fire that sent 15,000 people to the hospital two years ago.
