WASHINGTON (KGO) -- The original six "Rosie the Riveters" were in Washington on Monday and at least one had her dreams fulfilled.
The six women worked at the Kaiser Shipyard in Richmond during World War II.
One of them, 91-year-old Phyllis Gould wrote Vice President Joe Biden, asking for more credit for their efforts and a hug, which she got.
"Oh, for sure, yeah. He came bursting out of a room and grabbed me and then he hugged everybody. It felt good!" said Phyllis Gould, a welder.
The six riveters also met President Barack Obama and took a picture with him as well.
