The comprehensive proposal to replace the affordable care act was rejected Wednesday with a 57-43 vote in Washington DC.

WASHINGTON DC (KGO) -- The comprehensive proposal to replace the affordable care act was rejected Wednesday with a 57-43 vote in Washington DC.

It came hours after the Senate voted to start the debate.

Vice President Mike Pence broke the tie on Capitol Hill.
