Pres. Obama presents science, technology honors to Bay Area researchers

WASHINGTON (KGO) -- President Obama presented the nation's highest honors for science and technology to several Bay Area researchers.

Two U.C. Berkeley professors are among the winners of this year's National Medal of Science and National Medal of Technology and Innovation.

Another U.C. Berkeley professor was also given the honor posthumously.

One UCSF researcher as well as two Stanford professors are also recipients.

Their fields vary from chemistry and physics to biology and math.
