PACIFIC, GROVE, Calif. -- Monarch butterflies have begun their fall migration into Northern California.

Monarchs have re-appeared at one of their favorite spots, Monarch Grove in Pacific Grove.

They also add color to tree canopies in San Leandro, Fremont and Santa Cruz.

The federal government just spent money to figure out why fewer monarchs have been spotted in recent years.
