A NASA spacecraft captured the first images of ice on Mercury.

It might seem odd that the closest planet to the sun could have ice, but some of the craters on the planet are always shadowed from the sun, turning them into cold traps.

Scientists captured the images by using very low levels of light scattered off crater walls.
