Santa arrives by police motorcycle in Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Santa ditched his sleigh and red-nosed reindeer for a motorcycle that got a police escort complete with flashing lights on Wednesday.

It's the Oakland police department's 8th annual "Motor Santa" Operation.

Traffic division employees, the Oakland Police Foundation and Toys R' Us in Dublin donated 180 toys for "Motor Santa" to hand out to children that he finds along his city route.

OPD says they looks forward to surprising motorists and pedestrians with this every year.
