What's interesting to note though is that under the Adult Halloween Costumes section of the Walmart website, there is a section for "Women's Plus Sized Halloween Costumes." However, when following this link, it takes you directly to the standard Adult Halloween Costumes section of the website.

Many on social media have remarked their displeasure at Walmart's costume section.

Walmart provided the following response to one Twitter user below.

Walmart removed all of the items in "Fat Girl Costumes," but the section itself still remained as of Monday morning.

This isn't the first time Walmart has faced controversy for their Halloween apparel. Last year, the retailer pulled a "naughty leopard" costume for kids after receiving criticism from parents.

A Walmart spokesperson provided the following statement to ABC Owned Television Stations below.

"This never should have been on our site. It is unacceptable, and we apologize. We are working to remove it as soon as possible and ensure this never happens again."
