FOGERTY STATE PARK, Ore. (KGO) -- A young girl is alive thanks to an act of heroism in Oregon over the weekend.

Bystanders formed a human chain to save the girl, who was swept off her feet by large waves at Fogerty State Park, southwest of Portland.

Passerby Raymond Felle shot a video of the incident and was amazed by the heroism he witnessed.

"If it wasn't for those two guys going out there to help to bring it in and those other three extending their arms, that girl would have surely died. I'm impressed with these kids for at least being able to help themselves," Felle said.

The coast guard also had to pull several people to safety who had become stuck on some rocks nearby.
