The video, put together by the comedy duo Eva and Mel out of New York City, features people reading some pretty hilarious last texts they received from their exes. To keep things interesting, they defined "ex" broadly to include "hook up, friends with benefits, its [sic] casual."

"And you thought 'Mean Tweets' was depressing," the caption reads, referring to Jimmy Kimmel's popular segment. "We've heard that all good things come to an end. We just didn't expect it to end with a text message...received at 2 a.m."

In some of them, you can't tell if the sender is telling the truth.

"I'm still technically married," one sender explained.

Some of them are just plain mean.

"I just wanted you to know that I'm making $100,000 a year now," another read.

Others are funny because they give no context.

One seemingly random response reads: "Can you return a build-a-bear?"

Which did you think was funniest? Let us know in the comments.
