MORGAN HILL, Calif. (KGO) -- A golden eagle found injured in Morgan Hill last week is doing very well.

The 4-year-old female named Morgan made it through surgery and will now be on antibiotics for a couple of weeks.

Then she'll go outside so she can strengthen her wings.

Officials at the Morgan Hill Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center think she may have been impaled on a metal pole or fence.

An x-ray shows no bullets or broken bones, but there is a tear to Morgan's air sac, which center officials say is vital for her to fly.
