Colin Kaepernick visits Alcatraz for Indigenous People's Sunrise Gathering on Thanksgiving

Colin Kaepernick visited Alcatraz Island on Thanksgiving to show his support at the Indigenous People's Sunrise Gathering. The event honors those who participated in the 19-month occupation of Alcatraz where many indigenous peoples attempted to enforce the Treaty of Fort Laramie.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Colin Kaepernick visited Alcatraz Island on Thanksgiving to show his support at the Indigenous People's Sunrise Gathering.

The event honors those who participated in the 19-month occupation of Alcatraz where many indigenous peoples attempted to enforce the Treaty of Fort Laramie.

The former San Francisco 49er took to Twitter to share a video of his experience and why he decided to attend the gathering.
