Lion gives human friend a big hug

BOTSWANA, South Africa (KGO) -- Jonathan Hawkins appears to have a special touch when it comes to large animals.

He recorded amazing footage while visiting Botswana.

Hawkins enjoys a close bond with some lions, especially one in particular.

In the video posted to YouTube, as Hawkins opens the gate to the enclosure, the big cat leaped out and jumped right into his arms.

The animal, almost Hawkins' height, rubbed its head on both of his shoulders as the two remained in an embrace for almost half a minute.
