When 3-year-old Ariana first saw a child in a hospital bed without any hair, her dad explained that sometimes the same medicine that helps sick kids get better makes their hair fall out. Her response shows just how big hearted little kids can be.

"Without a second thought, Ariana said 'Oh, well she can have some of my hair,'" Ariana's dad Josh Smith told ABC News.

A week later, Ariana was sitting in a hairdresser's chair for her first haircut. She donated 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love, which makes wigs for children suffering from medical hair loss.

Smith says he is amazed by his young daughter's selflessness.

"She is a typical little kid, but if she sees somebody in need, she certainly nurtures them," he said.

Smith posted photos of Ariana's haircut to Imgur, where they have received over 650,000 views in just three days.
