CHINA (KGO) -- Growing controversy after a shopping mall in northeastern China created parking spots for women only.

The 10 spots are indicated in pink and are about 11 inches wider than other spots in the lot.

Some female drivers appreciate the tailored design while others called the move sexist and disrespectful.

In an online debate some say it discriminates against women by implying women are bad drivers.

A mall manager says most of their customers are women and the mall just wanted to make parking easier for them.
