PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (KGO) -- It was a life-saving scene in Port St. Lucie, Florida. A 92-year-old man drove his car into a lake, knocking him unconscious.

A 21-year-old college student, Alton Brieske, saw the whole thing happen and ran to the rescue.

"I was banging on the window like, 'Sir, please wake up, wake up' and nothing happened. I popped his seat belt off, put my arm under his shoulder and swam, got him out of the car," Brieske said.

Not only did Brieske pull him to safety, but the pre-med student performed CPR when the man's heart stopped, reviving him and saving his life.

Brieske wouldn't let anyone call him a hero, saying he was simply the right man in the right place at the right time.
