Annual SantaCon event to be held in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Bay Area residents who are feeling particularly festive can don their best Santa attire and hop from bar to bar for SantaCon 2014.

Crowds of Santa Clauses are expected to make their way through San Francisco on Saturday, stopping at various bars and landmarks along the way.

It's part of a world-wide event that has been known to put some of the participants on Santa's naughty list.

While it's intended to be all in good fun, the annual holiday flash-mob-meets-pub-crawl event has generated criticism.

The SantaCon festivities start at noon at Union Square Park.
