Diff'rent Strokes actor Todd Bridges' Twitter exploded last night with negative feedback after his comment that comedy legend Robin Williams' alleged suicide was "selfish."

"I'm sorry but I have to say this life is rough sometimes ride celebrities life is rough for everybody committing suicide is not the way," wrote Bridges in regards to Williams' death. "It is a very selfish act you're not thinking about your family your friends or your fans."

Twitter users fired back at Bridges, calling his comments "insensitive" and "ignorant." Some even asserted that Bridges was trying to grab attention in the midst of Williams' death.

After this backlash, Bridges offered his apologies. He also shared that his best friend recently committed suicide, and that his reaction to news of Williams' death was more of a latent reaction to his friend's death.
