The U.S. Postal Service chose the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival to unveil a new stamp Friday.
The new Janis Joplin stamp went on sale. Joplin's brother said the honor is a testament to his sister's talent.
The psychedelic stamp is designed to look like an album cover.
Joplin lived in Haight-Ashbury during the city's Summer of Love in the 1960s.
This stamp is the fifth installment of the postal service's music icons series.
