SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KGO) -- The San Francisco 49ers are apologizing to 20,000 fans after canceling Sunday's public practice at Levi's Stadium over concerns about the sod.

Practice is being moved to the team's training facility next door and closed to the public. Another public session will not be scheduled. The 49ers originally planned to hold eight training camp practices at Levi's, but were forced to move them after just two last weekend because the sod gave way.

The 49ers practiced endured more problems after practice Wednesday. 10,000 fans won free tickets for Sunday's practice in a lottery drawing by the team last week.
