9-year-old runs over 30 miles in 24 hours on Navy SEAL-inspired obstacle course

Nine-year-old Milla Bizzotto competed in a 24-hour extreme race earlier this month, tackling an obstacle course that would intimidate most adults. And she did it for a cause.

"I am doing it for the inspiration for the iPad generation, to get kids off the couch and stop playing video games," she told Mud Run Guide, adding that she also wants to combat bullying.

Milla's dad, Christian, had to get special permission for Milla to compete in the race, according to Mud Run Guide. Christian also competed in BFX24 alongside her.

Miami Battlefrog BFX24 is part of a series of obstacle courses designed by Navy SEALs to be "the most adventure-packed, 15K, 5K or 1K obstacle course race (OCR) series in the history of the sport." To complete a lap on this course, competitors must scale 8-foot walls, climb ropes and tote heavy objects, among other obstacles.

Milla completed six laps on the course, which is over five miles. The adult woman who won the female competition completed 15 laps in the 24-hour time period.

And Milla's hardly resting now that she's conquered this feat. She posted on her Instagram page Tuesday that she's practicing her pull-ups as she trains for another race.
