A lesson in basketball slang from a streetball legend
Venice streetball legend Eugene Wright dishes the best basketball slang in the game.

During the NBA Finals you will probably hear many basketball terms like jump-shot, rebound and assist, but have you ever heard of a dime?

Streetball Legend Eugene Wright has played professional basketball around the world for over 17 years. In that time, the slang used on the court has evolved. Players are taught the fundamentals at an early age, but according to Wright, street ball players like to put some flair in their game.

For example, a pass that leads to a score is an assist but a dime is an assist guaranteed to draw ooows and ahhhs from the crowd.

Here are some of the terms you can expect to hear if you challenge Wright to a game one-on-one or the next time you're out on the basketball court:

Dribbling past your defender = wiggle, putting 'em on skates, Philly, wrap-around, breaking ankles, in-and-out

Making a shot = buckets, wet, 2 for a dollar, money

Sealing the ball = cookies, rips, 211

Assisting in a score = draw 1 kick 2, dimes, no-look
