CUPERTINO, Calif. (KGO) -- A Bay Area Special Olympian is headed to Pasadena on Tuesday to participate in the annual Tournament of Roses Parade.
Stephanie Ching of Cupertino has been competing in the Special Olympics for 25 years. The 31-year-old has won medals in every sport in the games and has been honored by the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame.
Ching says she's excited to ride on the Special Olympics float in the parade.
"I feel great and really happy," she said.
"We are so proud of her and it's really exciting because she has gained so much confidence in doing sports through Special Olympics," said her mother, Susana Ching.
You can watch the annual Rose Parade and look for Ching on ABC7. It begins at 8 a.m. on New Year's Day.
