SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- The Minor League San Jose Giants are honoring Giants fan Bryan Stow this week.

Stow will throw out the first pitch at Thursday night's home opener at Municipal Stadium. He was severely beaten following an opening day game in Los Angeles in 2011.

The beating left him a coma and many doubted if he would even survive.

At Saturday's game the first 1,000 fans will get a military trading card set. The first card features Giants Hall of Famer Willie Mays, who served in the Army in the 1950s.
