Arizona Cardinals fans had reason to celebrate on Sunday after the team defeated the Washington Redskins 30-20. But Claire Thorton, 23, was the big winner after receiving a touching marriage proposal from her Air Force Captain boyfriend.

During the first half of the Arizona-Washington matchup, Captain Eric Straub, in full uniform, got down on one knee and asked for Thorton's hand in marriage. As the Jumbotron displayed the proposal to thousands of attendees in the stands, Thorton replied with a resounding yes, and the couple embraced to the roaring approval of their NFL fans.

Shortly after the engagement, the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders Instagram account posted an image of speciality cakes that were delivered to the locker room. When not cheering for the Cardinals, Thorton works as a first grade teacher.
