Former UConn standout and NBA player Jeff Adrien was arrested Monday in Los Angeles and charged with felony car theft, USA Today Sports and TMZ Sports are reporting.

Adrien was arrested by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood division and charged with theft and unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle, an LAPD spokesperson said. He posted $25,000 bail Monday. The investigation remains open, according to the LAPD.

TMZ reported that Adrien took the car, a Mercedes-Benz, from a hotel valet, kept it for six hours, then returned it to the hotel.

The 29-year-old Adrien was a standout at UConn. He spent time with five teams in a six-season NBA career, last playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Adrien, a 6-foot-7 forward, played in 17 games for the Timberwolves in 2014-15. He was released by the New Orleans Pelicans before the start of this season.
