Cal assistant head coach Rob Likens will be the new offensive coordinator at Kansas, a source confirmed to ESPN.com.
Likens joins David Beaty's staff at Kansas after spending the past season as the Golden Bears' passing game coordinator. He also has coached receivers at Cal the past two years.
The Lawrence Journal-World first reported the hire.
Cal went from having the Pac-12's ninth-ranked pass offense in 2012 before Likens' arrival to boasting a top-three passing offense in the league these past two seasons. Likens will be charged with turning around a Kansas pass offense that has been no better than next-to-last in the Big 12 since 2009.
Likens was an assistant for Sonny Dykes at Louisiana Tech before following Dykes to Cal.
