Memorial plans finalized for fallen Hayward Police Sgt. Scott Lunger

HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) -- Memorial plans for Hayward Police Sergeant Scott Lunger, who was shot and killed during an early morning traffic stop, have been finalized.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday at Chapel of the Chimes on Mission Boulevard in Hayward from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

On Thursday, a police motorcade will escort his body to Oracle Arena in Oakland, where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m.

Law enforcement from around the country are expected to attend.

The event is open to the public but burial services for Lunger are private. ABC7 News will carry the procession and funeral live on-air and online Thursday.
